Waikiki is not real Hawaii. It never ceases to amaze me how people spend their once in a lifetime vacation and never leave Honolulu. 😢

That's not a too bad price, considering it includes your hotel and all of your food and drinks ❤❤ and in Waikiki it's really good price ❤

My friend and I have recently returned from a Mediterranean cruise on the Costa Toscana.I whole heartedly agree with almost everything you’ve said except for the dining experience! Not that the food wasn’t very good it was what we more or less expected,what we didn’t expect was the rudeness and wasteful nature of the mostly Italian passengers.The buffet dining was a nightmare and totally distracted us from what should have been a wonderful experience.Anyone would have thought that every meal was going to be their last! Pushing and shoving seemed to be the norm and their manners were quite frankly rude beyond belief. I have never seen so much waste and I don’t know how Costa can justify it.Something needs to change and I have written to Costa with a few thoughts.In the end we reverted to other dining options.It has definitely put us off cruising with Costa again which is such a shame because every other aspect of the ship was amazing and the cleanliness and staff could not be faulted.Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against Italians it’s obviously just their way and maybe we Brits should just elbow in like the rest of them.😂

I’m a big fan of Waikiki. Muragame Udon is the best!! The best shave ice in Hawaii is Ululani’s on Maui but they also have a shop in Kona.

My wife and I have always talked about taking a river cruise. We have done many ocean cruises, but thought this might be a welcome change. The most negative thing was the cost. Your video has opened up some possibilities, which we'll look into, thank you.

A number of years ago Pauline Frommer (daughter of the famous travel writer, Arthur Frommer) shared that she booked a river cruise for her mother using a line not well known in the US. For me, if I am paying less for the ship, I'm more likely to enjoy a meal in the local towns, which I prefer. When I'm paying a lot, I don't want to miss a meal!

That’s great! I thought it would be less. There were 3 of us. We had a kitchenette inexpensive breakfast. The hotel that we stayed at offered large rooms. it has since been bought by another company my friends dad help construct it. I don’t recall the cost, but it was inexpensive for five nights.. our big expense was a buffet with seafood at Pagoda floating buffet to celebrate my friends 50th birthday! What are the best places that we went? Was aloha swap meet get lots of really cool local souvenirs worse than we did was took a tour with this company. It was not honest about what was included. We were part of another group and our entrance was not paid for all the sites we went to. in addition, there was an issue with the driver of the vans insurance and we are held up for an hour and a half at least!! we had a car and in hindsight, we should’ve just done the route ourselves!

I am like you, I don’t have a lot of favorite places, but there are places I like to go back to. That shave ice looked blah, but noodles looked delicious. Thanks for sharing the info.

Going on a Med cruise this September, out of Chivi--whatever, LOL. At least I get to Rome 3 days early, so I'll have some time to explore. Trip to the port is through the cruise line, so I just have to get back to the airport, and then I don't have to worry about any traffic issues. Then I booked a shuttle through Expedia back to Rome. Thanks for all your info.

Hawaii is the most expensive State in the U.S. Everything is imported there (freighter ships, cargo planes) except the pineapples, which you can ONLY get in Hawaii. I've been to Hawaii 6 times -- once in Oahu. Yes, Waikiki is a classier version of Miami Beach. As it is a "Miami Beach of the Pacific", I didn't want to go back and prefer staying in Maui, which is where I own a timeshare.

Great video! I’m a pilot in training and love everything aviation so I’d love to provide some insight as well. Typically from what I’ve noticed, First Class is really only on long haul international flights. - think Emirates, Etihad, Singapore Airlines, etc., or even an overseas American Airlines flight currently. Also, even if someone is at the front of the plane, if you’re in a two cabin short-haul/medium-haul flight, it’s usually Premium Economy (same seat with middle seat blocked off) or Business Class (large recliner seat). < A lot of domestic/short to medium haul international carriers like to call their forward larger seat cabin “First Class” but it’s really not in the true sense of the name. On long-haul international flights where there is both a Business & First cabin, Business is typically a large cabin with nice, pod shaped seats. Whereas First is going to be in a smaller, more intimate cabin with very large armchair style seats and like a room around you. There is an exception where some airlines have made their Business Class as nice as First Class, like Qatar Qsuites, but those are a small percentage of seats across any fleet overall. Hope this helped!

You were so right. Entitled people need to be told. We had 4 kids and travelled a lot. All the kids used their indoor voices when we travelled around. It felt great to praise them for being aware of others around them. I have noticed that they use this practice with their children.

Yeah the “eff it we are on vacay crowd” or “dont you know how much we paid for this” crowd completely forget they are surrounded by others in EXACT SAME SITUATION! You ain’t special honey so have some respect for others AND yourself and act with SOME class.

When we were on Equinox in October of 2023 we noticed some of the same things in our Aqua class cabin as well. We thought for a ship that was refurbished in 2019 the staterooms would not be as dated. We also know our room steward Anna was very attentive but when they have way to many cabins to take care of attention to detail is not happening as they don't have enough time. Also our balcony was not used as the chairs were filthy and rust chips were falling all over the balcony. Lucky for us we had took disinfectant wipes. The rest of the ship looked great.

Pool areas have a set opening time because very often the guy who cleans the pool may not get there at the crack of dawn.

After ever trip, I run the numbers. I tend to spend more as I get older.....

yes, everyone is on VACA and that generally includes sleeping in. Unfortunately more and more people think rude and obnoxious is the norm. Also, the F word is not in our vocabulary, especially not for children.
